WHY CERTAIN PROPHETS ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS. Not Every Prophet Is An Accurate Prophet Because Not Every Person Is Hearing From God. Elisha received the mantle of prophecy from Elijah and proved he was of God.

Can someone clarify exactly what this scriprure is saying?

Apart from what it states, what it means is that if a person wants to inquire of God, what to do regarding a situation, finding a proven prophet, or seeking a trustworthy source, has great value.
  • But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” (2 Kings 3:11 WEB)
Jehoshaphat did not go to any other prophet besides Elisha—a credible prophet. Elisha suggested to Jehoshaphat that he would have thought that he would have gone to some other prophet, rather than him. But the King was wanting victory in this situation not an ego trip. The Moabites, on the other hand, were up for being deceived—as are so many people ensnared in the pride of life.
  • Now when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, they gathered themselves together, all who were able to put on armor, young and old, and stood on the border. They rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone on the water, and the Moabites saw the water opposite them as red as blood. They said, “This is blood. The kings are surely destroyed, and they have struck each other. Now therefore, Moab, to the plunder!” (2 Kings 3:21–23 WEB)
Consequently, the Moabites, entrapped by their deception, reveled in their delusion, only to find out that in the end, they were excited about a lost cause. Jehoshaphat, and the those with him, got the upper hand.
  • When the king of Moab saw that the battle was too severe for him, he took with him seven hundred men who drew a sword, to break through to the king of Edom; but they could not. Then he took his oldest son who would have reigned in his place, and offered him for a burnt offering on the wall. (2 Kings 3:26–27a WEB)
Furthermore, when we place the event within more context, we see how deluded the Moabites were. They were like those who gather at Bohemian Grove every year to commit to Molech a sacrifice on behalf of the leaders of this world, called the Cremation of Care.
