MANY PEOPLE THINK THAT THE IDEA OF BEING FOUND BY JESUS IS PREPOSTEROUS FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. Atheists Laugh Because They Reject The Truth; Calvinists Laugh Because They Think They Were Chosen As Special Before They Were Born. Those who read the Bible with a heart that desires the truth realize that Jesus searches the hearts of all people to see who is genuine and who is just a scoffer or mocker.

Going by the comments that have been made to this question on Quora, there is much mockery. On the many different forums and over the internet in general, mockery and irreverent comments are only permitted when it comes to the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ. When it comes to mocking any other historical figure, such as Mohammad, all those scoffers and mockers would be banned.

This is what distinguishes those who have the truth and those who do not. An apt illustration is found in the comparison of any one of the 99% of the population mocking those who belong to the 1% of the population who possess the wealth. The 1% are not the ones hurting financially. Neither are any one of the five hundred families that control 25 per cent of the world’s wealth (if not more) worried what you call them, because they have what you do not possess. Only those who are missing out of something become upset when anybody mocks them.

Likewise, those who are found by Jesus are eternally saved, because He has circumcised their heart (Deuteronomy 30:6) and given them assurance of eternal salvation—the joy of salvation (Psalm 51:12). Unfortunately, people—theologians included—do not understand that this is really what Jesus means when saying that you did not choose me, but I chose you. Only those who have the experience understand this.

When a person is found of God, this expression basically means that the person’s name is still written in the book of Life and shall never be removed. But a person has to first seek God, and be found desiring to know the truth, before they are found of God to be hating evil and longing for true righteousness.
  • And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 12:1
  • Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:6-9)
  • For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11–13)
  • Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. (Matthew 5:6)
People have to be genuine when seeking to know Lord Jesus Christ—even to have prayers answered. Hypocrites do not get in the door, even if they were fortunate enough to have a look.
  • For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:20)
  • But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in. (Matthew 23:13)
Isaiah said that if your thoughts and ways are not those of God, then you need to forsake them. However, even if you desire to forsake them, unless you hate those evil ways, the Son of God will not choose you. But if you hate those evil ways of yours and you desire to know the ways and thoughts of God, then if you are truly genuine, the Son of God will choose you.
When you ask the question (Has Jesus found you?), we can think in terms of doing what? Disregarding the truth and reveling in mockery? Or seeking the truth and desiring to overcome evil and death?

Unfortunately, some people think that they are King David or Jeremiah or Paul the Apostle and they were chosen before they were born. Those who hold that what was specifically said of these individuals applies to them. Besides this, they often claim that they were chosen as the Twelve disciples of Jesus were chosen. They quote the texts that refer to Jesus choosing the twelve and assert that these refer to them, but they overlook that one of those twelve disciples was a devil.
  • Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” (John 6:70)
Unless people seek Lord Jesus Christ, they will never be found by Him truly desiring to know Him. If you claim you are found of Jesus, and you have not sort Him out, then it will be doubtful you will possess the joy of salvation—it does not leave once a person is circumcised of heart by the Son of God.

  • And when he had removed him [Saul], he raised up David to be their king; of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’ (Acts 13:22)

King David was found by the Son of God to possess a heart that desired what He desired. If people were robots, King David would not have been found to possess a heart after God's heart. Only when something is lost is it found. Unfortunately, people believe that they did not need to be found, contrary to the what the Bible states, because the like to think they were especially chosen before the foundation of the world. A little deception is sufficient for corruption to rot the heart. Therefore, seek the Lord while he may be found. (2 Chronicles 15:2)
