The truth of this story is really very simple. Those who are self-righteous, even though they say they are believers, always miss it—they just do not believe in the power of God.

Those who believe theories of men, such as evolution and fallacious accounts of what purportedly happened millions or billions of years ago, find this simple truth impossible to grasp.

Truth is always missed by those who do not really want it. The truth of this account is the difference between being someone, who is acceptable to God and sure of salvation, and a person who will believe anything, other than the truth.

Abraham was given a son from a woman past the age of menopause and now he was tested to see whether he really believed God raised the dead. Whoever does not believe that God raises the dead, does not believe in the Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth.

People who scoff at the dead being raised, and who do not believe that the Creator of the Universe has their number, even if they do not know His number, are going to get a hell of a shock when the dead are raised and they are among those who do not belong to Christ. If the Creator can create the Universe, raising the dead should not be too difficult.

Abraham believed God could raise the dead. Do you believe that if God could create a Universe, He could also provide a purpose for mankind by raising the dead? Not to accept that God can raise the dead is to deny the truth of life. Principles require intelligence before they can be utilized. Principles do not emerge from nothing. Abraham accepted that principle that if God can create life when all hope of it is lost from a human point of view, raising the dead would be walk in the park.

What are you going to put your faith in? A theory developed by a mere mortal? Or something that is solid, like Abraham?
