PROVERBS AND WISDOM GO TOGETHER BUT HARLOTS ARE PROSTITUTES IN ANY LANGUAGE. Adventurous Women Are Not Necessarily Thinking Of Seducing Young Men Or Boys, But Nothing Seems To Change. Today female schoolteachers seem to find that schoolboys have a fascination more than in the past, but maybe reporting the fact has increased.

Are they referring to a harlot or is there a meaning behind the obvious?

People usually think of proverbs as pithy sayings that dispense wisdom. The book of Proverbs, however, has greater implications of a universal nature than most people realize. This is evidenced in chapter seven as it is in other chapters.

The idea of the adventurous luring those who are becoming itchy and wanton, because they are not making the commandments of God the apple of their eye, tells us that this chapter is talking about something deeper than understanding the virtue of walking pass a wanton woman and keeping on going.

People’s lives are destroyed because they neglect the paths of righteousness for what they perceive to be the adventures of being unrighteous; which can be equated to being like a member of Hell’s Angels and creating mayhem in a small town where guns are banned for residents.

The events that take place under the cover of darkness are equivalent to being ashamed for having despicable thoughts and activities that are exposed for all to see.

God has a purpose. This purpose will be revealed in due course. Just because the fireworks of sensation is not taking place right now, this does not mean waiting is in vain. Like the woman whose husband has gone on a long journey, waiting for him to return can be boring and even create anguish wantonness. But this does not happen when the woman’s husband is the apple of her eye. The wait seems like a short time because her thoughts are always upon him.

Wantonness is the craving that leads one to seek something more edgy, like dancing with diseases prone to those who are promiscuous, and yet thinking that the sting of death does not bring its disastrous fulfillment. Sheol beckons, where the dark chambers of loneliness await those who disregard their rights to a mansion in the eternal presence of the Almighty.

People who commit adultery can repent and be forgiven for their unrighteousness. Harlots repent and they are cleansed from their unrighteousness. Those who have paid to have relations with a harlot can repent and they will be cleansed from their unrighteousness. But if a person disregards his (or her) eternal inheritance, there is no opportunity for repentance.
  • With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him. (Provers 7:21)
How the Evil One seduces those whose thoughts are not stayed on God and His righteousness. Those who think that all their thoughts are their own are misguided. For the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2), impregnates the mind of all whose minds are not stayed on God.
  • Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)
When a person’s mind is stayed on the Lord God, he will experience satisfaction and peace of mind. In this day and age, a person develops the mind of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 2:16), providing they are walking in the righteousness of God in the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the days of Proverbs, the baptism of the Holy Spirit was not available. Instead, the Israelites were given a culture within to express their devotion to God that was focused sacrificial offerings of grain and animals and the accompanying teachings of faith, mercy, justice and the love of God.

Proverbs, chapter seven, speaks of what happens in the natural as young men forsake the ways of righteousness by listening to the voice of the adulteress, who is fully aware of what she is doing. This is analogous to waiting for the salvation of God but being seduced by the thoughts of the prince of the power of the air, instead—only to lose what one is promised for eternity in the House of God.
