THERE ARE MANY VERSIONS OF THE BIBLE IN THE WORLD BUT WHICH VERSION IS CORRECT IS A OFTEN ASKED. More Than Worrying About Which Version Is Correct, Some People Want To Know Which Language Is The Correct Language For The Word Of God. When we think about it, people love to bring the Infinite, All-knowing Creator down to their own level.

How can anyone claim to be a literalist (like Norman Geisler) since the Bible is written in so many different languages and no language has the same vocabulary. Plus in its orignal Greek it’s only the level of education of the writer? No 2 English versions have the same vocabulary?
  • Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.—2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
This Scripture is responsible for many people not coming to Lord Jesus Christ. Instead of having faith in Lord Jesus Christ, people wrongly (some knowingly) promote that they have to study to gain approval from God.

The Word of God transcends all languages because the Living Word of God is Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us this in so many ways, but the book of Revelation makes this very clear.
  • Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems; and he has a name inscribed which no one knows but himself. He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed him on white horses. (Revelation 19:11-14)
The written word of God bears witness to the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ. Anybody who points people away from the way to the truth that leads to life does not understand the written word of God.

As for vocabulary, there are many languages in the world. They are not all English. When the written word of God that consists of the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts is translated into other languages there will always be some influence of the translators worldview and perceptions embedded in the translation.

Scholars who translate the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts, nevertheless, do the best they can to be faithful in their efforts. Although there have been some corrupt attempts to change what the Bible actually states—the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is one such version (compare Is the New World Translation a valid version of the Bible?) Although, some changes have been made in the latest version, which states that the Holy Scriptures instruct how to be saved through faith in Christ Jesus.
14 You, however, continue in the things that you learned and were persuaded to believe,+ knowing from whom you learned them 15 and that from infancy+ you have known the holy writings,+ which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.+ 2 Timothy 3 | Online Bible | New World Translation (2013 REVISION)
The 1984 edition had an insertion that distorted the truth of the text.
14 You, however, continue in the things that you learned and were persuaded to believe,+ knowing from what persons you learned them+ 15 and that from infancy+ you have known the holy writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation+ through the faith in connection with Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3 | Online Bible | New World Translation (1984)
The words “the…connection with” have been removed from 1984 version which clearly states that salvation is through the faith (i.e. Jehovah Witnesses organization) in connection with Christ Jesus—not through faith in Christ Jesus alone; but by becoming a member of the Jehovah Witnesses organization.

Cognitive dissonance is a major problem for those who place too much emphasis upon the Bible, so that they exclude seeking a relationship with Lord Jesus Christ. But for those of us who have a relationship with Lord Jesus—having been baptized in the Holy Spirit—we are able to discern the truth. For even with the corrupt 1984 New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, we learn that the Bible bears witness to Lord Jesus Christ and people do not come to know Him because they search the Scriptures for salvation, and put their trust in their interpretation of the knowledge found written within its pages.
39 “YOU are searching the Scriptures,+ because YOU think that by means of them YOU will have everlasting life; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me.+ 40 And yet YOU do not want to come to me that YOU may have life.+ John 5 | Online Bible | New World Translation (1984)
The sin of bibliolatry keeps many people away from walking in the truth and receiving what God has provided for them through knowing Christ Jesus as Lord in their lives. The importance of walking in the Spirit of God cannot be overstated.
  • But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness. (Rom 8:9-10)
The canon of the written word of God consists of the writings of God Himself, and the inspired writings of the prophets and the apostles. However, the Living Word of God is Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom all things exist. To suggest that the Spirit of God is not able to bear witness to Lord Jesus Christ through even a corrupt translation is to deny Him of being God. However,  if a person reads the Bible, but does not want to seek God or the truth, even if reading the very original copies, nothing would change.

When people want to put something together, they usually read the instructions, if written. They do not question who wrote the instructions, they just want instructions that enable them to do what they set out to do. Likewise reading the Bible is no different. Unfortunately, people read the Bible, who are not truly seeking God, and they are not open to allowing the truth of the Scriptures to penetrate their heart. If they were open, when they read John 5:39–40 and 2 Timothy 3:15, they would realize that they need to seek Lord Jesus Christ and enter into a relationship with Him.

ALIEN DISCOVERIES LOCATED ON EARTH BLOWS THE MIND OF UNBELIEVERS WHO DOUBT CONSPIRACIES ARE BEING CARRIED OUT. Mars Has Been Found To Be A Hoax And Questions Are Being Raised About Aliens Visiting Earth. If aliens were visiting Earth from outer space and dictating to the US government, then there would be no need to train on Devon Island.

The internet is a boon for people to ferret out information about what is happening around the planet and pass on tip bits to others.

Nevertheless, the day will come when the internet will be a means by which people will be able to connect to their government controllers.

President Putin provides some perspective on who the controller might be the ones ruling the world.

Right now Google has the upper hand.

Meanwhile, we can become well informed and know what to expect when the day finally comes and we have to hand everything over to the controllers.

Google Earth now incorporates Google Moon and Google Mars and the propaganda is full on.

Brian Cox in Colorado, USA, explains what Mars looks likevery much like Earth, actually.

Mars, Devon Island, and some parts of the USA appear to have much in common.

Devon Island is the largest uninhibited Island on Earth.

For some reason, NASA felt the need to use Devon Island for testing the Mars rovers.

Richard D. Hall points out that life has been found on Mars, if the NASA images are not fake, because what looks like a prairie dog has been found in one of the photos.

Richard D. Hall made the discovery of the prairie dog known, along with some other anomalies that he had discovered that point to pictures from Mars actually being sent to NASA headquarters from Devon Island and the Arizona Desert.

NASA sent two people around to see Richard D. Hall, so that he could see things more clearlyapparently a personal visit from two NASA optometrists was in orderwhich seems rather odd, especially, if they were really pictures filmed on Mars.

NASA says that it requires more money to get men on Mars, which the government has to provide, because the public understand the importance of the mission.

However, there are many from the UFO community (believers in ETs) who will believe anything other than the truth that is available in Turkey (Noah's Ark) or at Neweiba Beach (Red Sea Crossing described in Exodus)

Those who reject the Bible's history will believe anything, especially that there are humans living on Mars and NASA has a secret space program sending people there to set up communities.

Do not tell these people Mars is uninhabitable or that the Van Allen Belts are too dangerous for humans to pass through.

Once people convince themselves that they do not want to accept that the Creator of the Universe exists, they go looking for other sources to justify their disregard for the truth, like this spoon found on Mars.

These gullible people will be told that a secret mission has been filmed because a plane has landed and all manner of ideas enter their heads when it comes to space fiction.

You may have heard of reports of people seeing cigar-shaped objects in the sky when looking out of the window of their passenger plane, and them claiming they saw a UFO.

Any unidentified aircraft flying overhead is a UFO, and the Boeing X37-B did orbit the Earth for 12 months (365 days) and before that for 225 days in 2010, with the latest orbit being for 718 days.

When people are able to identify surroundings and images that are on Earth, and not on Mars, then ideas of aliens and UFOs carrying them in cigar shaped aircraft start to fall into the arena of hoax news or fake news.

Science fiction devotees, who want to believe that there are ETs that visit Earth and are living on Mars, the Moon, some other planet or another Universe, get excited over anything that may look as if it has some habitable shape.

In New Zealand there is a cluster of boulders named the "Moeraki Boulders" which when filmed at high tide look like they are manmade space huts.

UFO devotees, when shown a picture of the Moeraki Boulders and told that they were found on Mars, go into ecstasy, because they have photographic proof (of life on Mars)never mind that the planet is uninhabitable, just like the Moon.

Brian Cox, who is merely a speculator, now has a different theory that is not being received too well in the UFO community.

Professor Cox is not a confessor of truth; for while acknowledging certain truthshe is not prepared to weigh up the necessary truth of why we are born only to die.

We have been given the capacity to reason, so that we might weigh up the facts and then choose the truth, because we appreciate its value.

The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Who said life had to be boring or meaningless?

There is other life besides the terrestrial, but this is found in a different dimensionnot on Mars, the Moon, or any other planet, the Arizona desert (USA), or Devon Island (Canada)and unlike what the likes of Professor Cox imagines, this life is eternal, not temporal.

READING THE BOOKS OF THE BIBLE CAN BE DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND AND WITHOUT THE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE MUCH DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. But The Bible Does Not Have To Read With The Mindset Of Someone Seeking To Become A Biblical Scholar. Everybody can read the Bible from a devotional point of view and allow the Spirit of God to teach us what we need to know from its pages that are relevant to us at the time. This is especially the case with the Old Testament, more so than the New Testament.

People read the Bible for different reasons. Some read the Bible because they are looking for contradictions. Others read the Bible just to say that they have read it. Philosophically minded people may read the Bible to see whether there is a philosophy to be found within its pages, or texts to justify their own belief system. Theologically minded individuals may read the Bible looking for texts to further justify the dogmas of their sectarian persuasion. People who are seeking to know what the Bible has to say about the reality of God’s existence, may find themselves taking a devotional approach to reading its pages.
A person seeking to understand the truth of the Bible may inquire into its historical and archaeological proofs. This will include learning ancient Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic—even other ancient languages of that era. On the other hand, a dishonest person will reject the Bible and even claim scholarship—true scholars seek truth and will leave no stone not turned to find it; especially, if presented with evidence that the historical account of Exodus has been verified and Noah’s Ark has been found, along with many other archaeological proofs.

Regardless of how anyone approaches reading the Scriptures, when a person reads in the book of Isaiah that God invites everyone to come and reason with Him, this has to be considered from a relational viewpoint, irrespective of how a reader approaches the book. For like every invitation provided in writing, RSVP (Répondez s'il vous plaît) depends upon whether a person is pleased enough to respond. As it happens, not every person is pleased enough with the invitation in the book of Isaiah to respond.
  • “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 1:18-20)
When we read the Bible with the view that if there is anything relevant for ourselves to consider, every book in the Old and New Testament will provide something for us to consider at some point in our search for the truth of life and our purpose for existence. Much has to do with our thinking, because a person reading the book of Isaiah, as I did for the first time, may not be as struck with the above-quoted Scripture that I was.

That the Bible states the Creator of the Universe would desire to reason with us mere mortals amazed me, and gave me a realization that when I presented my reasoning to Him (just prior to my own encounter with the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ), this is actually what God seeks. Unbeknownst to myself, my presenting to God the complaints I had, which formed an argument about the futility of my existence, fulfilled the above request written in Isaiah.

My argument was that life is futile, if we are born to die; unjust, if we are to suffer when we did not ask to be born; evil, because there is no love in the world, merely a knowledge of what love entails.

Not having been indoctrinated with dogma or other people’s views, when I read Isaiah for the first time, even though most of the book was beyond my understanding, reading Isaiah 1:18–20 was worthwhile. Later on, I became aware of the prophecies that related to the Son of God that are found in the book. Then as I became informed more about the background to the book of Isaiah; various passages before not understood, began to make sense.

The issue of time is a personal matter. Reading the book of Isaiah is not essential for salvation—possessing a relationship with Lord Jesus Christ is the requirement for eternal life each one needs to secure. Nevertheless, reading the Bible from a devotional perspective is always profitable. This includes the book of Isaiah.

Experiencing The Reality Of Existence Supersedes Every Known Form Of Ideology

BEFORE MAN WAS CREATED PEOPLE OFTEN WONDER WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE DAYS THAT THERE WAS NO ONE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. One Of The Biggest Questions Concerns The Angels And What They Were Doing, Whether They Were Doing Anything Other Than Standing Around And Looking Stupid. There is every possibility they were worshiping the Creator of Life.

As I was not on this Earth before I was born, I can not tell you what happened. However, I can point you to what is written in the Bible:
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament!
Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his exceeding greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with timbrel and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! (Psalm 150)
One thing I can also acknowledge is that when I breathe, I hear the sound of God being expressed. When I breathe in, I hear the sound, “Je”. When I breathe out, I hear the sound, “sus”. The sound of the name of the One Who gives me life is made up of two syllables, Jesus! The first syllable is sounded when breathing in. The second syllable is expressed when breathing out.

Actually, I also hear the unpronounceable sound of Yahweh in the consonants “YHWH”.

In the book of Proverbs, when it says that surely you know the name of the Holy One, the name of His Son, this is a reference to those who meditate on the source of life, and when doing so, they hear the sound of the consonants in their breath—yih / wih or Je / sus. Indeed, in the beginning was the Word, and in Him was life and the life was the light of man. However, the life is also in the breath that brings forth the name of the Holy One and the name of His Son.
  • I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One. Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists?Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know! (Proverbs 30:3-4)
  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1.1-4)
  • That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us. (1 John 1:1-3)
  • And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. (Genesis 1:30)
  • Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7)
  • For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall die. (Genesis 6:17)
  • They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life. (Genesis 7:15)
Since human beings were created after the animals, the answer to your question is all life that had breath, created before God made man—male and female he made them—would have praised the Lord, if everything that has breath brings Him praise.

But when it comes to worship, we know that Jesus said that God has to be worshiped in spirit and truth, and this appears to be a little different to praise.
  • Our fathers worshiped on this mountain; and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:20-24)
Worshiping God has to be an act of the will performed in truth by means of the Spirit of God, otherwise for those who possess a volition, worship of the Holy One is impossible; unless it is possible for angels to not have a will, for they worship God—but from what we learn from the Holy Bible, angels have a will (Jude 1:6).
  • And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who is seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” (Revelation 19:4)
  • And all the angels stood round the throne and round the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God. (Revelation 7:11)
Since angels appear to have been created before humans, from my reading of the Scriptures, life (in forms that we do not understand yet) worshiped God.

Interestingly, the Buddhist concept of nirvana means “blown out” —as in the flame of a candle ceasing to exist. Buddhists seek nirvana as their goal. This means that they reject life; because they see life as suffering.

The Bible teaches that life is the light of men. When the candle is blown out, that is the end of life and the beginning of eternal death—a state of existence devoid of God’s goodness. On the one hand, Jesus will not put out the smoldering wick of a tormented soul on Earth, because this suggests that there is hope that the person might ignite with the light of life.

But if the person rejects life, rather than acknowledging the Lord of Life and trusting Him to bring justice for having been born only to suffer and die, then that person has to quench his own eternal fire of torment—which from all accounts is impossible to do.
  • He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick, till he brings justice to victory (Matthew 12:20)
  • And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. For every one will be salted with fire. (Mark 9:47-49)
Before God made man, according to what we are able to ascertain from the Bible, Satan worshiped God, but he sinned and sought worship for himself by, deceiving Eve and, giving Adam cause to disobey his Creator. The very breath that we breathe, which we understand is essential for life on planet Earth, tells us the name of the Holy One—the name of His Son—if we care to listen. And everything that breathes shall give praise to God. Those who worship God, shall worship Him in the Spirit and truth.

People reject the truth, but it is in our very breath; only, worshiping God is a choice, as far as we are concerned. Unless people worship God, because they understand that He alone is the Source of Life, their worship is in vain.

Making The Complicated Simple Does Not Require Rejecting The Truth

WHY DO DIFFERENT CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS INSIST THAT THE REASON THEY ARE DIFFERENT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ARE RIGHT? History Tells Us That Roman Catholics Were An Attempt To Bring All Christians Under The One Banner, But Because The Roman Catholic Church Promoted Evil, Breakaways Occurred That Lead To Further Divisions. But since denominations are made up of people, who are inherently inclined to lie, steal and destroy, surely one denomination is no better than another.

Yes. All denominations are equal in the site of God. They are the efforts of men.
The Body of Christ, which is the real Church is not so evident. Membership to the Body of Christ is not determined by denominational affiliation, rather whether one bears fruit in one’s life that brings glory to God.
  • By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples. (John 15:8)
  • By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:35)
Love is easy to talk about and the message is proclaimed throughout the world, but there is a massive difference between understanding love and talking about it.

Understanding love is difficult, when reading the famous “love chapter” 1 Corinthians 13 where we are told what constitutes love, because it is framed in the negative “you shall not” meme, so that people might be able to understand what love might be, as it is foreign to humans.

In other words, for a person to love another person or other people,
  1. You shall not be jealous
  2. You shall not be boastful
  3. You shall not be arrogant
  4. You shall not be rude
  5. You shall not insist on your own way
  6. You shall not be irritable
  7. You shall not be resentful
  8. You shall not rejoice at wrong
There are some positives given in the love chapter, such as the following, but even these sound like negative instructions; because they imply that these requirements of love are not met by humans. If they were met by humans, there would be no need to mention them.
  1. You shall be patient
  2. You shall be kind
  3. You shall bear all things
  4. You shall believe all things
  5. You shall hope all things
  6. You shall endure all things
  7. Your love will never end
  • Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends; (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
The fifteen characteristics of love that have been identified above are not what we find in the denominations of men. In fact, if we are honest, we fail to find them in any persons because: Who believes all things?

Essentially, we, who are acculturated by western values, become negative creatures conditioned to be cynical and unbelieving individuals, indoctrinated to doubt that God exists. Besides this, just look at how quick people are to resent comments that they disagree with in respect to themselves. For example, people resent the truth that the Bible states: The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1)

As for myself, even though the Bible teaches that the love of God is poured into the hearts of those who receive the Holy Spirit, I have failed to allow Him to reign in my life at all times; because, on occasions, I have decided to do things according to my old ways, rather than suffer for righteousness sake.
  • Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us. (Romans 5:1–5)
Love is difficult for us to understand because we are conditioned to be individualistic, and to fear other people by what we hear and see via the news media, with its promotion, of their need for us, to be aware of destruction, disease, and the dismal happenings that occur—accidents, trauma, deaths, emotional and relationship breakdowns, grief.

In fact, most people think love is what happens in families; but even the most loyal of families demonstrate fractures within their ranks. True love is about people coming together because they are appreciative of one another; not growing up to be annoyed by one’s siblings and being committed to each other out of familiarity, habit and fear of others.

A comparison with denominations by what Jesus states is required of his disciples tells us that none are the true church of God. They are all human constructs that have people vying for power, position and prestige, in one way or the other.
  • Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.... because we are members of his body. (Ephesians 5:25–30)
  • So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1–4)
The true Church, then, is the Body of Christ that is invisible and made up of many individuals, such as we, who are seeking to do the will of God, even if we find ourselves inadequate; because of our natural tendencies towards moral imperfection.

Even though we fail to live up to the standards of righteousness required for perfection, those of us who hate evil, seek to be close to the Lord God in all situations. This has nothing to do with hiding from the world, but seeking to overcome the world through the power of Holy Spirit within, and allowing the fruit of the Holy One to manifest (Galatians 5:16-23).

Repentance From Dead Works And Faith Towards God Is But The Beginning

MORAL DECADENCE LEADS PEOPLE TO FORSAKE THE VERY INSTITUTION THAT KEEPS SOCIETY INTACT: THE FAMILY. Once People Forsake Honoring The Family, Then This Is The Beginning Of The End Of A Civilization. The family is the very core of society, where children learn their obligation to their parents, and how to relate to other members of the family.

"The life of the nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful and virtuous."
Frederick Douglas
All the U.S. founders expressed this sentiment in one quote or another. If morality is rejected by a culture, that culture is sure to collapse. All of Western culture appears to be declining.

Morality is about relationships. Moral decline occurs when relationships begin to fracture. Relationships that are long lasting and based upon the desire to appreciate one another’s contributions without making egregious detrimental demands that fracture commitments are the basis of a healthy society.

A review of history indicates that nations have either been defeated because greater forces have subdued them or they appear to have crumbled from within. One of the reasons nations have collapsed is because of the corruption that has permeated the community. But here are eight reasons attributed to the fall of the Roman Empire:
  1. Invasions by Barbarian tribes
  2. Economic troubles and overreliance on slave labor
  3. The rise of the Eastern Empire
  4. Overexpansion and military overspending
  5. Government corruption and political instability
  6. The arrival of the Huns and the migration of the Barbarian tribes
  7. Christianity and the loss of traditional values
  8. Weakening of the Roman legions
Evan Andrews, writing for the History Blog, states: “the decline of Rome dovetailed with the spread of Christianity, and some have argued that the rise of a new faith helped contribute to the empire’s fall.” Evan Andrews even employs a song to this effect.

Andrew Howley of the National Geographic Society, reporting on an ancient civilization conference convened in Guatemala, points to the effects of deforestation on the collapse of civilization. Deforestation could have been due to population explosion or drought or some other major catastrophe.

Anyone who implies that people following the teachings of Jesus is the reason Rome declined has to be demonstrating ignorance. For from the Bible we learn that when people remove themselves from the truth that God is the source of our life and existence, then moral decadence will flourish (Romans 1:22-32) and with it the breakdown of society.

Moral decadence leads people to forsake the very institution that keeps society intact, the family. Once people forsake honoring the family, then this is the beginning of the end of a civilization. Family instills commitment.

Confucius thought has played a major part in the general Chinese ethos over the last 2,500 years. The exemption, perhaps, being the communist era; even now, many people still hold to Confucian tradition. (Robert Oxnam et al) state in The Three Confucian Values
In the Confucian tradition, human relatedness is the primary given. Human beings exist in a social context. They learn from one another, they interact with one another.
Consequently the family is seen as the very core of society where children learn their obligation to their parents and how to relate to other members of the family.

Moses appeared on the scene some 3,500 years ago. God called Moses to be the human mediator of His will for the Israelites and, more generally, mankind. The Omniscient God desires that people do not transgress what is expressed in the Ten Commandments. The first five of those commandments relate to God Himself, speak of the environment, and point to how nations will implode. The next five commandments speak of the individuals requirements for relating to other people and how each one ought to think if everyone is to enjoy community. Violating these injunctions would incur disaster.

In the teachings of Jesus, we see what is required of people who are to possess eternal life. We also learn what is required of people if they are to live in peace on Earth. There is no difference in Jesus' teachings and what is found in the Ten Commandments when it comes to morality. The New Testament epistles expand on what Jesus taught and emphasize that the law (Ten Commandments) is good and needs to be upheld.
  • Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. (Romans 7:16)
  • Now we know that the law is good, if any one uses it lawfully. (1 Timothy 1:8)
Any community, any culture, any nation, any civilization will become brittle, just like a fragile fractured vase, if it becomes morally crazed. However, when people repent of their rejection of what is good, what is right, and what is true, to then acknowledge the truth and teach the fundamentals of harmonious relationships to children, based upon the core element of family within society, then it is possible to expunge corruption from a community's midst.

Honesty, truthfulness and virtue only exist when justice is acknowledged and upheld. Faith, justice and mercy are very important elements within a prosperous society that ensure its prosperity. Justice, mercy and faith are taught within family interactions as individuals learn to interact, overcome misunderstandings and enjoy the unity of a well-run household. Of course, this has to be adhered to when people are attending schools; when they are participating in the workplace; when they are involved in government operations. But when people throw out the Ten Commandments, this is not going to happen, society is going to become more corrupt and decadence will ensure the breakdown of every relationship.

The Ten Commandments Were Designed For You To Enjoy And Possess Life

WHY WOULD ANYBODY WANT TO COMPLICATE THE SIMPLE, WHEN WE KNOW THE KISS (KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID) PRINCIPLE WORKS THE BEST. Well, Not Everybody Knows That The KISS Principle Is The Best Way To Address A Matter. Those who complicate matters are usually called politicians who do not really have their constituents interests at heart.

Happy Riches answer requested by anonymous

I have a very simple testimony: today I give God the glory for the fact that the joy of the Lord still resides within my being.

The problem with most people is that they have the wrong idea of a testimony. Do you want to give glory to God, or do you want to glory in the gory of the Evil One?

Too many people give the Devil the glory by exulting in how marvelous their wicked lives were before they became Christians.

After I had become a Christian and began attending revival meetings four times a week, I would hear people get up and boast of how wicked they had been. They would boast of how they enjoyed their wickedness and at the end of it all, something terrible happened: Jesus got a hold of their life and they could not sin anymore—but they did.
Many of these boasters (of wicked deeds done) went back into the world of sin and turned their backs on Lord Jesus.

Actually, I attended five meetings a week in those days. The fifth meeting was where we took communion; but this was not a gospel meeting. At the gospel meetings, where there were souls always giving their hearts to the Lord, testimonies were always given. Not all testifiers focused on how enjoyable it was to be a sinner. Many testimonies were of God doing a healing and these were often different to what people called “their testimony”.

Myself, I had sinned so much, I could not get up and boast about my sin. I was ashamed of my sin! This is because, my sin was not my imagination. My experience of knowing Lord Jesus is not a matter of imagination, either.

After having attended these meetings (five a week) for over a year, one of the preachers realized that he had never heard me testify. I was called upon to stand up and acknowledge Lord Jesus Christ in public before men.
  • And I tell you, every one who acknowledges me before men, the Son of man also will acknowledge before the angels of God; but he who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God. (Luke 12:8–9)
I was not afraid to share with people on a personal basis about Lord Jesus Christ—through whom I had found forgiveness, because I hated my sin. But to stand up and testify of my past opprobrium was something that I was not keen on doing. Nevertheless, because I knew that if I denied the Lord, I would be denied, I went up to the front of the packed auditorium and asked God to speak through me.
  • And when they bring you to trial and deliver you up, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. (Mark 13:11)
I looked at all the eyes. There were so many eyes looking at me. Eyes were everywhere. I shut my eyes, so I could not see all the eyes looking at me—they were scary. I called upon the Lord to give me the words to speak and opened my mouth. Nothing came out about all those evil deeds and the disgusting, deplorable, wicked shameful things that I had done before I became a Christian. Instead, God revealed how He had been working in my life to bring me to salvation.
  • Jesus answered him, “Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand this? Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? (John 3:10–12)
At the next meeting, the preacher, who started the congregation, approached me and told me that many people were blessed by what I had said, and they sensed the Holy Spirit speaking to them—people even gave their lives to the Lord as a result of what I said. He asked me to testify again.

Instead of glorying in my gory and giving the Devil praise for how depraved I had become before Jesus Christ got a hold of my life, God was glorified. Amen!

Later on, the Holy Spirit taught me that when people give God the glory, their faith in Him actually grows, and this enables them to overcome the Evil One.
  • No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God. (Romans 4:20)
Unfortunately, most people think that a testimony is what they did before they became a Christian, or before they acknowledged their need to repent. Instead of growing in faith (1 John 5:4), these people often flounder in mixed blessings with a double-mind (James 1:7-8; Psalm 119:113), or they return back into the world because they are unable to overcome the Devil (Revelation 12:11).
