HUNGER AND THIRST TERRIFY US ALL, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO STARVATION AND BEING PARCHED FROM THIRST. .Ironically The Son Of God Says That He Is The Bread Of Life And The Water Of Life. Liquefied food is something we understand babies obtain from their mothers, but the bread of life and the waters of life are two different things, or are they.

When the land of Canaan suffered from famine, everyone went to Joseph for grain. Then, where shall the thirsty in spirit go to find the bread of life today?

Firstly, there seems to be a mixing of metaphors. Secondly, there is also a sense that you already have your own view.
People who are thirsty in spirit may prefer drinking alcohol. The Bible states:
  • And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)
Jesus encountered a Samaritan woman at a well and asked her for a drink. The woman was taken aback and she was shocked that a Jew would ask a drink of her. Evidently, Jews would have nothing to do with Samaritans. She expressed this to Jesus.
  • Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” (John 4:10)
The message here is those who are thirsty in spirit ought to go to Jesus.
Is there a difference between being thirsty in spirit and the bread of life?
From reading the Gospels, if we are thirsty in spirit we need to go to Jesus. If we are seeking the bread of life we need to go to Jesus.
  • Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)
Jesus was crucified, declared dead and buried. So how can a person go to him today?
Now if Jesus did rise from the dead this is possible. If Jesus did not rise from the dead then this is impossible.
I sought Lord Jesus Christ out on the basis that others had told me that he was alive. After an epic session of prayer beseeching God to show me Jesus, He appeared. Jesus is alive! He filled me with the Spirit and since then I have been partaking of the bread of life.
