ORTHODOX MAN HAS NEVER READ THE BIBLE AND DESIRES TO KNOW WHERE TO START. For Some People This Might Seem A Silly Question Because Most People Know That When Reading A Book One Starts At The Beginning. The Bible is different to other books because it is a collection of books.

The first and most important criterion for reading the Bible is to ask Lord Jesus Christ to guide you and show you the truth as you read the Holy Writ. Forget about what other people say and let the Holy Spirit teach you. Always prayerfully read the Scriptures and call on the Lord God, Creator of the Universe, to speak to you.
Having said that this is what Jesus said:
You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. (John 5:39-40)
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:31-36)
The most important thing is to seek out Lord Jesus and ask Him to reveal the truth about Himself to you. If you do this as you read the Bible, you will begin to hear His voice. For Jesus' sheep hear His voice.

As already suggested, read the Gospels. Begin at Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, asking Lord Jesus Christ to show you Himself in a very personal way.

The Only Words Written By The Finger Of God Were Written For You To Find Life
