CHRISTIANS WORSHIP JESUS AND THEY WORSHIP GOD. Not All Christians Worship Jesus, For Some Say They Only Worship God. Is Jesus God or is this some conspiracy?

My Catholic priest pal tells me he worships Jesus, not God. What is the difference?

Christians who worship God the Father through Lord Jesus Christ the Son because they have been baptized by the Holy Spirit are not worshiping a Trinity
Clearly from the book of Acts we learn that Jesus was given the Holy Spirit from the Father. Jesus is the baptizer of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given when people have hands laid on them to receive the Holy Spirit as well. (Mohammed does not give this, because he cannot.)

Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He [Jesus] has poured out this which you see and hear. (Acts 2:33)
And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:17)
We also learn from the book of Acts that the Holy Spirit can be received before people are baptized in water:
“Can any one forbid water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” (Acts 10:47)
The book of Acts also tells us that there are believers who have not realized that they can receive the Holy Spirit:
And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” (Acts 19:2)
Four of the above five Scriptures from the book of Acts tell us: Jesus is given the Holy Spirit from the Father; the Holy Spirit can be received in Jesus' name; the Holy Spirit is given when the anointed individuals lay hands upon people so they can receive the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is given to individuals without prayer, water baptism or laying of hands, but presumably as the Son wills. This is because Jesus was given the Holy Spirit to baptize those whom He chooses, so they can bear the Fruit of the Spirit in their lives (Galatians 5:19-24).

For people who desire to worship God the Father, the question to ask: How can I worship God in spirit and in truth if I do not possess the Holy Spirit?

This is very important because the Holy Spirit has always meant to be major component of the New Covenant that was foretold by John the Baptist when he said:
“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. (Matthew 3:11)
Evidently it is impossible to worship God in spirit and truth without possessing the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit therefore has to indwell the individual. To this effect, Jesus said:
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24)
Jesus went on to say that He will pray the Father to give people the Holy Spirit. Just as we read in the book of Acts, we learn that Jesus spoke of the different aspects in which the Holy Spirit will be given. The Father will send the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name. Jesus Himself will send the Holy Spirit from the Father (for He is the Baptizer). However, Jesus could not give the Holy Spirit until He had returned to Heaven. Once Jesus had returned to Heaven, He could then give the Holy Spirit He received from the Father to those whom He chooses.
And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever. (John 14:16)
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26)
But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me.John 15:26
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. (John 16:7)
The Holy Spirit has to be received by the individual, if an individual is to worship the Father through Lord Jesus Christ the Son, but also if the individual is to be a part of the resurrection at the Second Coming. The Apostle Paul wrote:
But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you. (Romans 8:9-11)
From the above texts it is evident that the Holy Spirit is not someone who is worshiped as part of a trinity or the Triune Godhead, rather, it is because a person receives the Holy Spirit, a person is able to offer acceptable worship to God.

In effect, if people possess the Holy Spirit, this would make them different to other humans who have not got the Holy Spirit indwelling. If the Holy Spirit is God and a person has the Deity indwelling, this must make a remarkable change in the person's life. There should be no surprise when we read that in the book of Hebrews that we are considered brethren along with Lord Jesus Christ, that is, Sons of God. Why? Because we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us.

The writer of Hebrews states:
But we see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one. For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering. For he who sanctifies andthose who are sanctified have all one origin. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, “I will proclaim thy name to my brethren, in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee.”
And again,“I will put my trust in him.”
And again,“Here am I, and the children God has given me.” (Hebrews 2:9-13)
The Apostle Paul informs us that the whole Creation is waiting for to see who the Sons of God are going to be:
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God. (Romans 8:19-20)
While we worship the Father through the Son, we ourselves can only do this if we are baptized by Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit. Many people miss this important truth and as there were people recorded in the book of Acts who believed, but were not aware that it is essential to possess the Holy Spirit to be truly saved, so there are people today who have been baptized in water only. They are yet to be baptized by Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit. This is the new covenant; the old covenant of blood sacrifices has been fulfilled and abolished.

Although Jesus is God in human form, we who receive the Holy Spirit are what?
Jesus said that the Father was our God and His God. (John 20:17)
So we have to conclude that we can only have peace with God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we have received access by faith to this grace in which we now stand to worship the Father (Romans 5:1-10).

Maybe you should suggest to your priest, if he possessed the Holy Spirit, he could worship the Father through the Son. Nothing wrong with a little enlightenment as there is only mediator between man and God.
